Driftwest Round 4 : Brandon MilfordSep 16, 2013 05:40:17 AM 0 Comments
TK: Today we are catching up with Sumaru’s newest driver, Brandon to ask him about how his weekend went, we’ll start it off with the easy question how was your drive into Penticton BC?
Brandon: Its a drive Ive done many times before, I live in Revelstoke in the winter time so nothing really spectacular for me, the people who I rode with though made it awesome!
TK: This is your first full year of driving in a series let alone practice, so far this year how do you think your doing?
Brandon: I dont really think of competition as a competition, I really just go out there to have fun. Seat time in my car this year has been number one for me, and its really starting to show when I look at where I was last year.
TK: Penticton speed way is a driver favorite each year, how was it for you?
Brandon: The track was so much fun, mainly because it went from a super fast entry to a real technical infield.
TK: In practice you were looking really good out there, tons of smoke tons of angle, was it as fun as it looked for you? Sadly you weren’t able to make into the main show this time around.
Brandon: It was way to much fun, when my car was running right it was fantastic, and even when it wasn’t I still did my best and still had a blast! It was a let down to not make it into the the top 14, but I still had a huge smile on my face regardless. Right now to me its not really about making the tandems, its just about having fun and putting smiles on peoples faces!
TK: You stuck around Sunday for the funday and the am competition, you probably had the most seat time out of any one that weekend and it really show’s on your car. [Laughs]
Brandon: Well my biggest thing is definitely having fun instead of worrying about how my car looks, I really wanted to go out there and hunt walls on Sunday, and I did!
TK: Yeah man you killed it! Is there anyone you would like to give a shout out to for helping you along with your season this year?
Brandon: First and foremost Id have to thank Lito, at the start of the year we kind of had a revolving door situation with engines in my car but he stuck out and got me running solid. Thanks to Cory and the Sumaru’s crew for providing me with shop space, Pat, Dustin and all the boys from Spruce Grove Tire’s plus for helping me switch tires and crewed for me this weekend, and lastly the Driftwest crew who really have hit the nail on the head this year for keeping the layouts seriously fun to drive this year!
