Drifting for the kidsSep 16, 2013 09:32:45 AM 0 Comments
A Few weeks ago Ryan and Brittany Brown put on a small charity event for the Stollery Childrens Hospital. It turned out to be pretty huge, more inside
On the labour day weekend, Ryan and his girlfriend set out to host a small charity event in honor of the Stollery Children’s hospital. With the help and support of Drift west they were able to rent out the now retired Stratotech raceway for the day and invited everyone out for a day of fun in the sun.
It was also the last time Stratotech would see drifting on its 1.8 km long roadcourse. So it was a very fitting motive that drivers got to come out and enjoy the track one last time all the while supporting a really good cause.
Ryan Spracklin was having a great time letting it all hang lose everywhere around the course, really taking care of some of the landscaping work. He was really starting to put it down out there and having a blast, he probably had the biggest smile of anyone out there the whole day.
Brandon got some tandem practice in with Drift Farms Kurtis Goat pretty much all day, his goal by the end of the day was to be initiating at the same point that Kurtis was. While his car may be lacking in the cosmetic departent as of late, all of the seat time is really starting to show off, each time he drives he’s getting better and better. Keep an eye out for him during Drift west round 5 Im thinking it will be his time to shine!
And how about the man of the hour? Ryan looked super dialed on the track and presented and ran the event anytime he wasn’t driving.
With a packed grandstand and even more packed pits Id say he did an amazing job. Without the pressure of competition this was one of the best events all year to go to and it shows as everyone left with a smile on there face. And for the fundraising bit? Ryan and Brittany were able to raise $12’762.93 (and still counting!) .
Sumarus would like to thank everyone who came out that day !
